Happy Labor Day weekend, guys! From Southern Decadence, to a charity football game, to Drake’s “In My Feelings” night, there are so many things going on this weekend. Pick an event, or four, and have a blast, responsibly!
The largest LGBT festival will be taking over the French Quarter. From Thursday through Monday, the festival will feature tons of events like the Bourbon Street Extravaganza — a free outdoor concert on Bourbon and St. Ann streets, the Southern Decadence Walking Parade, Drag Brunches, parties, and more. THE THROWBACK – If you’re like me, you love a good throwback 1,2. Call your crew and head over to The Parish at the House of Blues to hear Deejay Juice spin your favorite hits from the late 80s to the early 2000s. I’m talking Tupac, Biggie, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Cash Money, No Limit, and Bad Boy Records, and then some. It’s lit! 90s attire suggested. 10P.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 1
Inaugural Pros. vs Media Charity Flag Football Game – Pro ballers will take on your favorite media personalities at Behrman Stadium to benefit the American Heart Association. There will be food vendors, activities for kids, a chance to meet and greet players, and a half-time Battle of the Bands. Also, the first 100 people will get free breakfast. Trapical Pool Party Vol. V Labor Day Edition – Hosted by organizers of the NOLA Caribbean Festival, this pool party will be at the Drifter Hotel. DJs Raj Smoove, Kelly Green, Green Thumb, and XMO will be spinning all genres from trap, to reggae, to dancehall, to bounce. There will also be Caribbean food and a full bar on-site. 6P – 2A.
In My Feelings: Labor Drake 2018 – This event is pretty self-explanatory. Although Drake won’t physically be there, you’ll definitely feel his presence during this club night. 9P.

New Orleans Mardi Gras Indians Sip & Sew – Ever wondered how Indians make their beautiful costumes? Well, here’s your chance. Learn about a significant part of New Orleans culture during an event where masking Indians will teach you how to bead/sequin your own designs on canvas. The class includes all sewing materials, light bites, a live performance by the Young Maasai Hunters Indians, and photo opps. The class will be held at Second Vine Wine, 1027 Touro St. Times vary.
Bourbon Boule 2018: Sunday Soul – A part of Black Bourbon Society’s Bourbon Boule 2018, this soulful, chic event showcases classic cocktails featuring Maker’s Mark portfolio of bourbon and passed hors d’oeuvres. There will also be a tasting of Maker’s Mark, Maker’s Mark 46, and Maker’s Mark Cask Strength, branded giveaways, and more at Barrel Proof. Sunday Chic attire is suggested. 4 – 7P.
