Today, on Valentine’s Day, Ray J drops his new book, Death of the Cheating Man: What Every Woman Must Know About Men Who Stray. In the book, Ray J gives advice to women on what to do to keep a man. He also describes his relationships
from the past with a woman named KK.

John L. Debuts Word Connections featuring 100+ Poets Across the World.

9 months ago, Spoken Word Artist and Author John Lacarbiere, III, also known as John L., had a vision. He wanted to put together a book featuring the dopest poets from around the world. He asked for submissions via social networks and several outlets in hopes of finding what he was looking for. And he did. He took the works submitted by various types of poets and compiled it into Word Connections, a book that not only promotes and connects each poet, but is also a product of charity.

When asked the spill on Word Connections, John L. expained:

I took my passion for reading and creative writing combined it with my compassion for others and came up with Word Connections Everyone involved will become(besides published poets) instruments aiding in the future of young creative writers…This is the first edition of Word Connections. I want each edition to aid a specific charity… I didn’t quite understand the power or the significance of this book until the ideas started flowing and the changes it could make… I mean Word Connections is connecting poets to other poets all over the WORLD not just America… I’m talking Canada, Europe, & Africa several of the poets in the book will be getting their work published for the first time… That’s a huge accomplishment for a writer. Pending the success of the book Wordplay NOLA will have more funding to enter public schools and work with students. Mind you it just started off as an idea I had to put all the poetry I loved to read into one book for my leisure… It grew into a ground breaking work of art. 100+ poets from the USA, Europe, Canada, Africa. 500+poems all to benefit the youth. I’m so proud of every last person involved with “Word Connections” although this won’t make any of us rich we are really changing the world. It has poets, has rappers, actors, painters, community leaders, public speakers, activist all in one book… Also has homeless people, strippers, members of the gay community all in one book contributing to a cause greater than self. It isn’t gender specific, race specific, age specific… It’s literally connecting everyone to each other with words…

Word Connections is available now for $55. Click here to purchase.

The Spill: Love & Hip Hop: Reality Check + VIDEO.

On Monday, we had a last chance to see the ladies and the leading man of Love & Hip Hop. There’s no doubt that this season was explosive, having 10 times the drama as season one. In fact, it was so crazy that the Producers couldn’t gather for a reunion like last time because most of them didn’t want to be in the same room with each other.

So, for the first time, Executive Producer, Mona Scott-Young, stepped from behind the scenes into the front of the camera in a one-on-one interview with each cast member. Well, not each one. Chrissy refused to be interviewed by Mona, but we’ll get to that later.

Mona and the cast spilled on all of the drama from season two, their thoughts on the show, and what’s next for them.

Emily says that she and rapper Fabolous are still dating and they are not hiding it. According to Em, Fab has no hesitation in letting the world know they are togehter. The two are doing better but Emily is still on her own until Fab can fully commit on her terms.

Kimbella, on the other hand, isn’t doing too well in her relationship (or lack thereof) with Juelz Santana. Ironic much? The two aren’t together right now. She says if they decide to be together or not, they will both be adults and take care of their children, including the one she’s carrying now.

Olivia signed a new deal! Finally, right? Some of you may be happy to hear that. Lol. She didn’t specifiy which company she signed her $500,000+ deal with, but it wasn’t EMI. She wasn’t too happy with the way she portrayed, saying the show made her look “pathetic” and made it seem as though she hates her mom. Olivia claims that she and her mom talk and her mom was very hurt by the things she said on the show.

Um, Olivia, YOU said those things, though. If she and her mom talk, I don’t understand why those things weren’t said a long time ago. It shows for good TV, right, Olivia? Right. Lay in that bed you made, hunni.

Though we haven’t seen a lot of Somaya in the second season, she’s still very much a part of the cast. That’s why she was upset that they lessend her screen time. But just like Mona stated, and I agree, Somaya’s character was so blah this season! She went from being the spicy, fiesty Latina with a hardcore personality, to someone laid back, having nothing to say about anything. I don’t know if she was trying to show another side of her, but that side was uninteresting and not a good look. Better luck next season, boo.

Erica Mena slid her way into an interview, defending her actions in the show. She wants you (yeah, you) to give her a chance to show you a different side of her. K, girl.

Sidenote: A lot of the ladies seemed to have not liked the way they were portrayed on the show.

The most pissed of the cast were Chrissy and her man Jim. In fact, Chrissy was so mad at the way the show aired that she refused to sit down with Mona. Instead, she sat down in an interview with Mona’s partner, Executive Producer, Stefan Springman. Basically, Chrissy felt that the Producers put them in certain situations to increase the drama on the show to gain more viewers (Uh, duh). In one specific event, she asked Mona to not put her in the same room as Yandy. Less than 24 hours after Jim proposed to Chrissy in Miami, Yandy showed up in the same club as Chrissy, Emily and Olivia. You know, the scene when Chrissy went at Yandy’s neck and waited for her outside of the club. Well, the Behind The Scenes footage shows Chrissy going off about asking to not be in the same room as Yandy. She stormed off the set saying she was done. But she didn’t quit! Or, according to her, maybe, maybe not. Jim, on the other hand, made me a firm believer that it will take the jaws of life to pry his reality doors open, again. He seemed so uninterested and disturbed as he sat there, talking to Mona about the show. Mona and Stefan told Jim and Chrissy, “This is what you signed up for.” They agreed to knowing that, but didn’t think it would turn the way it did. Jim says he’ll tune into season 3 because the drama will not involve him. I guess we’ll have to wait and see if the Joneses will be back for another round of Love and Hip Hop drama.

The reality check of this show brought me to light. We all know that Reality TV isn’t total reality. Sure, situations are real, the beef is for real, but Producers put these people in certain situations to create drama and to boost ratings. It’s all fun until it hits home and someone gets hurt. Not physically, but mentally and emotionally. It can hurt your brand, your image, and your business. I love watching these shows, but it makes my head hurt. Lol. It makes me want to pick up a book and never look up at the TV again. But it’s so addicitve! :) Even though I know situations are made to create drama for my entertainment, I can’t help but to think about what happens when the cameras stop rolling and these people go back to their lives dealing with the unnecessary drama that “Reality” TV has created for them.

But of course, the drama will continue. Get ready for Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, coming next season.

New Video | Nancy Jones (aka Momma Jones) – “Psychotic”

If you’re a fan of Love & Hip Hop, you’ve followed Momma Jones, the mother of Jim Jones, recording her single, “Psychotic,” and all of the drama behind it.

The song was claimed to be a diss record to Jim’s fiancé Chrissy. It’s no surprise that Chrissy and Momma Jones were at each other’s throats in Season One. Since then, the two have buried the hatchet (or so it seems) but Mama Jones continued her road to stardom and added visuals to her song.

Peep:

Okay, Nancy. That’s enough, girl…
