Today is my favorite artist’s birthday and you know what that means: he’s getting better with time. At least I’m sure it’s what his wife thinks.
Kanye West made 38 today, and his wife, Kim Kardashian West, made sure he spent it well. Sources say Kim dropped $110,000 to rent out the Staples Center in L.A. so that ‘Ye and his friends can have their own game day. And I mean his own game day! John Legend sang the National Anthem (as well as “Happy Birthday”), John Salley was the announcer, James Harden and Pusha T acted as coaches, while ‘Ye played with friends Justin Bieber, Tyga, Pusha T, Russell Westbrook and John Hall. That’s not all. A couple of Laker girls were thrown in to cheer the boys on. Super-baller friends Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neil, Carmello Anthony and Scottie Pippen couldn’t make it, but were sure to send in video shout-outs that were played on the Jumbotron.
Kimmie, you’re the real MVP, girl. Here’s a string of KK’s Instagram, leading up to Kanye’s big surprise.
Happy Birthday to my best friend in the entire world! You are the most amazing husband & dad! You inspire me every single day! You make all of your dreams reality & it’s fascinating to be by your side & watching it all happen! You have a heart of gold! Have the best birthday ever! #SWIS
