Last year, I was so bummed I didn’t go to the inaugural Lil Weezyana Fest, but after seeing how I reacted to this year’s Essence Fest performances (recap coming soon), I think I did myself a favor. I would’ve died from über excitement. And from what I saw via Tidal, all of NOLA got their high school life at the show.
Wayne performed almost all of his hits, even those dating back to the Big Tymers’ “How You Luv That” albums. He brought out NOLA’s old school legends like Partners-N-Crime, Ms. Tee, 5th Ward Weebie, DJ Jubilee, Master P and No Limit, and of course, Mannie Fresh and The Hot Boys.
If you missed it, don’t make the same mistake this year. The date has finally been announced, and Wayne will be performing live at his second annual Lil Weezyana Fest on Saturday, August 27. 2 Chainz will be joining him on stage, and the duo known as ColleGrove will be performing hits from their self-titled album. Special guests, who have yet to be named, will also be hitting the stage. Tickets go on sale this Friday, July 15 at 10 a.m., and will range from $65 – $95.
