The Weekend Spill - 10:19

With Halloween around the corner, Krewe of Boo is rolling through this weekend! The rest of this weekend is filled with plenty picks from family-fun festivals, to comedy shows, to concerts. Have a blast!

ALL WEEKEND

New Orleans Film Festival – This year, festival features screenings of this season’s top films, an array of events, and more. The fun doesn’t end on Sunday. The festival runs until Thursday, Oct. 25. Full Schedule.

Praise Fest – Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the free festival will feature live performances from local and national gospel artists, including the Mississippi Mass Choir, and more. Grab the family and come out, clap, stomp, and sing praises along Bayou St. John. There will also be special events each day of the festival: Senior Day (Friday), Health & Career Fair (Saturday), The Finale Closing Celebration (Sunday). 11A – 6P.

FRIDAY, OCT. 19

The Tipping Point – It’s RQtober and DJ RQ Away is celebrating The Tipping Point’s 10th Anniversary celebration all month. This Friday, Lil Jodeci will be taking over downstairs with his Set De Flo set and Pr_ck will take over upstairs with his Ascendance set. No cover. 11P.

SATURDAY, OCT. 20

Saints & Pelicans STEM Fest – Teachers, students, and families are invited to the Superdome to enjoy live performances, STEM experiments, exploration stations, Saints/Pelicans activities, an more. The festival benefits Core Element and is $12/person ($15 at the door). 10A – 2P.

Mac N Cheese Fest – Who doesn’t love mac n cheese? Well, someone loves it so much, they made a festival out of it. The second annual fest will feature different spins on mac n cheese from local vendors. The dishes will be judged by a panel of professional and celebrity judges. Grab the family and head down to Louis Armstrong Park for live music, cocktails, and more. 11A – 7P.

Trombone Short’s Hometown Threauxdown – The local (and international) legend will be performing live, along with special guests, at Champions Square. 6P.

Krewe of Boo – NOLA’s official Halloween parade is unlike any other parade the city has seen, obvi. It starts at Elysian Fields and ends on Andrew Higgins Dr. 6:30P.

Hannibal Buress – The comedian will be performing live at the Saenger Theatre. 8P.

SUNDAY, OCT. 21

Skin Care Social – Andrelle’s Natural Skin Care presents its third installment of their Skin Care Social series. During the pop-up, you can shop the all-natural skin care line while enjoying free samples of their newly-released beauty teas. 12 – 2P.
