Cheers to the Saints in hoping they beat the feathers off those Dirty Birds! If you’re headed out to Atlanta for the Saints vs Falcons game, you’ll find a list of parties going on at the bottom of this list. It’s gonna be poppinnn’. If you’re staying in the city, it’s poppin’ for you, too. Festivals and dance parties galore!

ALL WKND

New Orleans Tattoo Arts Festival [ 9/9 – 11] – The 4th annual fest returns to the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center (Hall J), 900 Convention Center Blvd., with special guests including international tattoo artists and various stars from Paramount Network’s Ink Master. $20 gets you a day pass and $40 gets you a 3-day pass. Showtimes: Friday, 2 – 11p; Saturday, 11a – 11p; Sunday, 11a – 8p.

St. Tammany Crab Festival [9 /10 – 11] – The crab festival was created in 2013 to promote awareness of the culinary value of Louisiana crabs and bring top-notch entertainment and other attractions to Slidell Heritage Park, 1701 Bayou Ln, Slidell, LA. This year will feature musical acts, Cupid, Lyfe Jennings, Tony! Toni! Toné!, and more. Kids 12 and under get in FREE and will have access to tons of fun and games. There will even be a Playstation tournament. Teenagers will be granted a half-off entry fee. Gates open at 11a. 

FRIDAY, SEPT. 9

Water Seed

Movies in the Park – The New Orleans Recreational Development (NORD) Commission is kicking off its fall season of Movies in the Park – a free, family-friendly, outdoor film series (over the next three months). This Friday, Spider-Man: No Way Home, will be playing at the St. Roch Playground, 1800 St Roch Ave. If it rains, the event will be held at Milne Rec Center, 5420 Franklin Ave. The movie begins at sunset, between 6:30 – 7p

DJ Soul Sister’s 16th Annual Birthday Jam – Every year, Soul Sister, brings down the house at Tiptina’s, 501 Napoleon Ave., with the funkiest birthday celebration. This year is no different as the legendary, original group, Switch (“I Call Your Name,” “There’ll Never Be”), will be performing live. DJ Captain Charles will also be spinning while N.O. DJ pioneer, Papa Smurf, will be the Master of Ceremonies. Doors open at 8p.

Club Rennaisance NOLA – Beyoncé’s newest album, Renaissance, has been raved about since it dropped in July. DJ Rakim Beau will be taking you through all eras of Beyoncé, so report to Poor Boys,  1328 St. Bernard Ave., dressed in your fave Bey look, and be ready to dance! 10p – 2:30a.

Three Keys Presents: Water Seed’s Wild Nights – The edgy New Orleans band will be bringing together a mixture of Funk, Rock, and Pop to the Ace Hotel’s Three Keys, 600 Carondelet St. 9 – 10:30p. 

Dopamine w/ DJ Quickweave – After jamming to Water Seed, stick around in the Ace Hotel’s Lobby, 600 Carondelet St., for DJ Quickweave’s set as he spins a blend of Soul, House, Techno, and the Jazz influences of New Orleans. 10:30p – 2a. 

DJ Jess Presents… The TRL Experience – IDK about you, but MTV’s Total Request Live (TRL) was a huge part of my young adulthood. DJ Jess did right by dedicating a party to the music show we grew up on. Dust off those throwback looks because it’s going up at Cafe Istanbul, 2371 St. Claude Ave. 21+ | 10:30p.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 10

Ascendance

L.O.C.A.L.S’ Festival – The Loving Our Community As Louisiana (L.O.C.A.L.S) Fest is a celebration of Louisiana’s Grassroots culture. Flag Boy Giz, Mykia Jovan, and Sporty’s Brass Band are just a few performers who will be live at Armstrong Park, 701 N Rampart St. And it’s FREE! 11a – 7p. 

Ascendance Virgo Season – A monthly dance party for all people (and I do mean all people), Ascendance is a consent-only space and does not tolerate any of the -isms (racism, ageism, sexism — you get it). This month’s special guests are ​​DJ Funkë and singer Charm Taylor. Cafe Istanbul, 2371 St. Claude Ave. 21+ | 11p.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 11

Saints vs Falcons – New Orleans is prepared to represent as the Saints take on the Dirty Birds in Atlanta’s Mercedes Benz Stadium. 12p. Catch the action on FOX (Channel 8). If you’re headed to ATL for the game, keep scrolling and check out the parties happening this game weekend. 

Riddims w/ Pr_ck – The one and only DJ Pr_ck will be serving up vibes poolside at the Ace Hotel’s Alto Rooftop Bar, 600 Carondelet St. 3 – 7p.
