Star 23 Enterprise has announced its highly-anticipated return to New Orleans on July 2, 2022. Celebrating the weekend of the Essence Music Festival, dedicated fans of the festival will finally get the chance to party at one of the biggest events in the Big Easy: The Black & White Affair

The party will be hosted by the legendary Doug E. Fresh, so you know it’s going to go down. On the 1s and 2s will be none other than New Orleans’ popular DJs, Captain Charles and Raj Smoove, as well as New Edition’s official DJ straight from the A, DJ Shakim. If you’re ready to be outsiiiiide for a night of drinking, dancing, and reuniting with grown folks, this event is for you!

About the DJs

DJ CAPTAIN CHARLES

A New Orleans legend, DJ Captain Charles is known for spinning the best old-school and grown and sexy music to date. He is one of the first DJs to ever spin at the world-renowned Jazz Fest and has opened for the likes of Cameo, The Ohio Players, Frankie Beverly & Maze, and more.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

DJ RAJ SMOOVE

Dubbed “The greatest DJ in the world” by Lil Wayne, Raj Smoove is arguably one of the most successful DJs to emerge from New Orleans. He’s collaborated with Stevie Wonder, Mannie Fresh, PJ Morton, NBA Youngboy, and Mia X — to name a few. Raj has also appeared front and center at  Essence Fest and Saints and Pelicans games.

 

 

 

DJ SHAKIM

Before becoming Bell Biv Devoe and New Editions’s official and exclusive DJ, DJ Shakim got his start on tour with Jermaine Dupri and Da Brat. Since then, he’s worked with Bow Wow, Diddy, Mary J. Blige, and more.

 

 

 

 

 

The Black & White Affair is going down at The Historic Carver Theater. Doors open at 10p and you must be 21 to enter (30-ish preferred). Tickets are available now and can be purchased here. All ticket sales are final — no refunds.
