This year marks the 18th anniversary of Nas’ third studio album, I Am…. Recently, the Queens rapper performed his 1999, Puff Daddy-collaborated hit single, “Hate Me Now,” alongside New Orleans brass band, The Soul Rebels. The forces joined on stage at this year’s Byron Bay Bluesfest in Australia. With horns a-blazing and Nas’ fiery energy, the live performance was a perfect sneak peek of what’s in store for us at Jazz Fest.

Nas and The Soul Rebels will reunite at the 2017 Jazz Fest this Friday, April 28 at 5:30 p.m. on the Congo Square stage. If your anticipation is getting the best of you, check out their recent performance for a little taste of what you can expect:
