Reginae Carter just had one of the biggest birthday parties during the coronavirus pandemic.
On Sunday (Nov. 29), the eldest child and only daughter of Lil Wayne celebrated her 22nd birthday at Atlanta’s Republic Lounge. The theme of the party was ’99 and the 2000s’ — a theme we all know far too well, being that it’s one of Juvenile‘s most infamous sayings during the height of Cash Money Records’ success.
Gearing up for her big day, Reginae unveiled herself channeling a series of classic album covers from hip-hop legends BG, Hot Boys, Foxy Brown, Eve, and of course, Lil Wayne.
By the looks of videos plastered all over social media, hundreds of people were in attendance, donning their best 99s and 2000s attire. The guest list included Reginae‘s parents, her on-again-off-again rapper boyfriend, YFN Lucci, Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert, Kandi Burruss, Lala Anthony, and more. There were also performances by Lil Wayne, Juvenile, and 2 Chainz.
Reginae‘s mom, Toya Johnson, took to her Instagram Stories to document the dope night. In most of the videos, a massive crowd is shown rapping lyrics and dancing to ’99 and 2000s hits provided by DJ Mannie Fresh. In one video, Lil Wayne expressed his love for Reginae, noting that he was “about 14 or 15” when he and Toya welcomed their baby girl into the world.
Throughout the stories, Reginae grabbed the mic and rapped a few of her favorite songs. She even requested Mannie Fresh to play Sissy Nobby‘s Bounce classic, “Consequnces” (normally spelled ‘consequences’ ). “Y’all gotta know we from the N.O. baby!’ Reginae exclaimed on the mic. Watch it all go down below!
The next day, Reginae took to Instagram to thank a short list of people including her boyfriend, Lucci. “Last night was mad real !! Thanks to my boyfriend for throwing me this amazing party !” she captioned the post. She continued, “Thanks to my parents for the juvenile and Mannie connect (legendary ) and I wanna thank everybody who came and partied with me ! Y’all some real ones 🥳🥳”
