The first time I was introduced to Pink Sweat$ was when he performed his now-popular hit, “Honesty,” at the 2019 Soul Train Awards presented by My Black Is Beautiful. Instantly, I was a fan and hopped on Spotify to “like” the song.
Pink Sweat$ released the debut single in July 2018, and it soon gained attention on streaming platforms. It reached No. 10 on Spotify’s US Viral Chart and was featured on Spotify’s “Are & Be” playlist, which is one of my faves. In 2021, he dropped another one of my jams, “At My Worst” featuring Kehlani, which is actually a remix to the solo single from his 2021 debut album, Pink Planet. The duo performed the song on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. 🔥
FUN FACT: Inspired by rapper Cam’ron’s obsession with pink, the singer, whose real name is David Bowden, always wore pink sweats which led to the adoption of his stage name.
